Here's where the THANK YOU comes in. I dare to be real because I have loving people in my life that support me and appreciate me… shit and all. Yeah, I said shit… I say it in my real life sometimes too… and you STILL love me (see what I did there?)!!!
I tend to be attracted to people who are real. People who don't pretend to be something that they aren't. People who are willing to share their flaws because they openly share their hope and their strive to work on those flaws. I don't want to be around perfect people, mostly because perfect people don't exist, they are just pretending. The only perfect person was the Savior, and I'm absolutely sure I would enjoy being around him. He would love me even if I swore. He DOES love me and I DO swear!
{{Speaking of swearing, my dad once told me that swearing will be the last "thing" (meaning sin) that he will give up. He tells me if he were to stop swearing now he would be exalted (meaning elevated into heaven for reaching perfection). He tells me that whenever he feels his feet leaving the ground he quickly throws out a swear word… because he knows we can't live without him… his words not mine!}}
So back to what I was saying.
What was I saying again?
I don't remember. Oh wait, I just wanted to say THANK YOU. I wanted to remind you that if you ever need anything, I am here -- to listen, to talk, to shop, to eat, to cry and I promise I won't judge (I can't, I'm not as close to perfection as my dad is so…) I don't judge but I promise I'm safe, and I promise…
I am here.
Because you have been here for me.
{{And, with all this said, I will tell you, I still have things that I am not ready to throw out there, on this public blog, with my real name and the name of my family members… so I may be a hypocrite, but maybe one day I'll get there, and maybe not… because some things are personal, and some things are not mine to share.}}

DeleteOh Sid!! Loved that!!
ReplyDeleteTo know him is to love him right?!!
DeleteAm I the worst sister ever? I just caught up on the good ole blog! I just don't want to get sucked into your blog again and have you stop posting, so maybe I put up a wall. Or maybe we have had company and I can't get my crap back together, I think its that one! I've talked to you a little bit about Jack. It hurts my heart that kids can't see how amazing that boy is. He has grown into such a sweet sensitive loving boy. All you can do as a mother is LOVE LOVE LOVE! Its all you can control. If you instill love and confidence at home, then maybe they can fight and be strong against all those stupid bastard kids that don't appreciate him... whoa, sorry, mama bear came out a little. I love that boy, and your other boy and girl for that matter and they can come to my house anytime and play because my kids think the world of them!
ReplyDeleteI love you all the time Mill, but there is something that draws me in more when you are being mama bear… and especially when you say bastard! That is, and will always be, YOUR word! Thanks, and I love your kids. They are awesome and my kids LOVE playing with them. I'm so happy you live closer… it is the best thing in the whole world. Oh, and thanks for reading, I can't promise that I won't hurt you… I may stop blogging again, but for now, I'm really loving it again!
DeleteHoly shit T.C.-
ReplyDeleteI don't know what I clicked on your page to get here but I swear it was meant for me to read this morning! Thank you for coming from a place of truth and vulnerability. Allowing your light to shine empowering me to do the same. We have lost touch over the years but I just had to say Thank you! ♥-Keesha
