Mama Come... Mama Go

My mom came in town to visit ME... aka, her grandkids. We had a nice, relaxing time. We visited the park, went on lots of walks, did laundry, cooked, read, started a blog for "tam the gram", went to the spa, and even found some peaceful moments to watch conference. Yah! Mom's are the best, I'm bummed that I live so far away from mine... sometimes!!! Haha!!! Just kidding mom, I love ya. We we sad she had to go, but no one was sadder than Jack. He sobbed, his little heart was broken. We can't wait to see you again for Thanksgiving!

And don't you worry... my mom left her mark! A couple of the most annoying Halloween toys for Brayden and Jack... THEY ARE SO LOUD!

The Itsy Bitsy Spider

Okay so someone who drove by my house a week ago and then drove by my house today may say "hmmmm, I wonder why the Jolley's took their Halloween decorations down". Well I'll tell you why... we had the fake spider webs hanging over our stucco with the fake spiders in them... our kids thought this was great. One night I was coming home with the babysitter and as we walked in the front door, I noticed one of the spiders had fallen out of the web. As I casually bent down to pick up the spider IT MOVED. Okay so seriously, this spider was as BIG as the fake spiders. When my babysitter and I were done screaming, I took a better look, and guess what I noticed?... BLACK WIDOW. I thought I was going to throw up! I literally bent down to pick up the stupid thing and was inches away when it moved... INCHES! Anyway, I screamed for Jon to come save us and he got our handy dandy bug spray and killed the unwanted guest. It took me a couple of days but I recovered. A couple of days after my recovery I was taking the garbage out when I noticed movement in my fake spider web... can you believe that another huge spider was living among the fake spiders... I (again, trying not to freak out) took a closer look... ANOTHER BLACK WIDOW. I ran into the garage and used every last ounce of our bug spray to kill this spider... I called Jon, who was at work, and yelled at him (you know, these things are always their fault), I told him that he had to spray the entire house before I would let him in that night! And without thinking, I yanked the fake web (with all the fake and maybe real spiders) down. My kids weren't so happy about it... but can you blame me?

Can you tell the difference?!?! AHHHHHHHHHH!

How Cute is He?

My husband is the sweetest thing EVER! Last week, on September 27th, we celebrated the 10 year anniversary of our first date (I know, who actually remembers this stuff?!?!... we do!). Milli teases me, "that is so cute, when are you celebrating the first time you held hands?!"... back off sista! Anyway, Jon and I realized it was our "date" anniversary later in the day, while he was at work. I called him and said, "remember what today is", and like a very good/very trained husband, he did! That evening when he got home, he surprised me with a bouquet of white roses... there were 10! How cute is he? Sometimes, in our very busy, very demanding lives, I am reminded why I fell in love with this man. And Jon, not that you ever check our blog... (unless i threaten you with a night on the couch) I love ya!

We Never Looked So Good!

A special HUGE thanks to my great friend Katie Delahunty! She is so talented... can you tell? She designed "The Jolley Family" site! The background is beautiful, the title page is adorable, etc... for someone as computer illiterate as I am, I can really appreciate someone who has this kind of talent! If you are interested in purchasing a background yourself, check out her site!

Brave Brayden

So this is probably more of a "journal entry" than a blog but I can't resist! Yesterday Brayden had to go to the docs for a check-up... which always includes the latest immunizations. I didn't want to catch him off guard so I decided to tell him what was going on...
Mom: "Brayden, you are going to have to get some shots today."
Brayden: "But mom", (instant tears are now flowing) "I don't want to."
Mom: "I know honey, but you have to, it will keep your body healthy and strong."
Brayden: "Mom, I will be brave but you have to ask the doctor if she can give me little shots, not big ones." (the tears have now subsided)Mom: "Okay Brayden, I'll make sure I ask her for little shots."
Brayden: "Okay, then I'll be brave."At the doctors office the doc walks in and checks his cute little (10% for height and weight) body to make sure everything is a-okay. After he gets looked over...Doctor: "Brayden, the nurse is going to come in and give you 4 shots now, are you ready."Brayden: (poking me) "Mom, tell her."
Mom: "Tell her what?"
Brayden: "Remember mom, tell her."Mom: "Oh yeah, Doctor, Brayden said he would be really brave if you give him little shots, instead of big ones."Doctor: (laughing) "Oh! Of course we'll give you little shots Brayden, thanks for asking."Brayden: "Okay then I will be super brave!"
The nurse proceeded to come in and give Brayden 4 shots... he said "ouch" with every poke but he didn't cry... such a brave little man!
Brayden was so happy when he was done and the best part was he got a Power Ranger sticker!

What to call her...

It's getting easier and more natural to look at Anabelle and see her as my daughter. She is sweet and dainty and anything I could ever ask for.... and she even looks like me! It's hard work but any mother would admit that it is definitely worth it. She's my little angel and has blessed my life more then she'll ever know, she has changed me... and she's only 3 1/2 weeks old. I can't wait to see what else is to come.

Voting time: What do we call her?
Annie (Jon and my dad call her this)
Anna
Belle
Bella (For all the vampire lovers out there)
AJ (For the athlete in her)
Jane (Anabelle Jane)
Cast your vote... but I'm not promising that I'm going to leave it to the public!!!... Although I will if it's the answer I want!
